FAQs
An escape room is a live puzzle experience where you and your team work together to solve a series of puzzles in order to reach the end of a story within 60 minutes.
We’re a premium product; our games are our own, and in bigger explorable spaces (meaning higher rents and rates reflected in your ticket price). We also provide a dedicated Games Master who is watching your game, and only your game (and never mix you with strangers). It’s the Know Escape difference, it’s one of the reasons why we have thousands of five-star reviews.
Comfortable clothing is recommended.
You might jump, but then you’ll laugh. We want you to have fun and would never put you in danger!
The games are built in reasonably spacious areas, there may however be less spacious elements to the games. If you would like to come and see the space before booking please let us know and we can arrange a visit beforehand.
Generally, children over 5 will be able to do some things in the games, and children over 11 are able to get through with only some help.
We don’t advise any children under 11 play Rob the Bank.
You have 60 minutes to finish the experience.
Games are based around “complete the story” rather than “escape the room”, and so the story will simply have a different ending. You are more than welcome to come back and try again at any time.

If you are going to be late please phone us to let us know. Where possible we will try and make sure your game is the full 60 minutes, however we may need to shorten your game depending how late you are. If you are more than 15 minutes late we may have to cancel your game. Unfortunately, you will not be eligible for a refund.
All will be explained when you arrive.
Unfortunately not. All sales are final. Please be aware our game is a live experience. Once the booking has been confirmed refunds and cancellations are not accepted. If you can’t make your booking please contact us as soon as possible (within 48 hours
at the latest) and we will do our best to reschedule your game.

It’s really best to give us a call to talk through your specific circumstances to make sure everyone has the best time.
You should arrive 15 minutes before your booked time. This allows for any questions you may have to be answered and a pre-game briefing.
No, we work to keep our games a surprise for everyone who comes to play.
Teams are allowed to bring in bottles of water.

No! Never! If you book a room it is yours for the duration of the game, we never add additional players from outside of your booking to make up numbers.
Chelmsford: Free Parking outside the venue, Moulsham Mill, Parkway.
Maldon: On-site parking is opposite and is operated and charged by the council. White Horse Lane Car Park.
Witham: On-site parking is offered at Newlands Drive (CM8 2AP) behind our venue, managed by the local council. Ensure you buy and display a ticket from the machine. There’s no height limit at the entrance, and we’re just a 3-minute walk from the car park.
